These are shots of our woodwork in progress and some recently completed projects. This is intended for the wood worker in all of us. This is updated regularly. It may be possible that you see your special project in different stages of progress with tools and and jigs used to accomplish.

Torpedos

These torpedos were made for Naval Mine and ASW Command. Fins and propellers are waiting to be put on. The blank on the lathe has been trimmed down to an octogon using the table saw to minimize turning time and tool wear. The ends on this torpedo will be cut when we are ready to install the fins and the propellers. These have been turned from bass wood. The props will be walnut to give it a nice contrast.

These items are standing by for sanding sealers and clear coats.

Dry fit (oak table)

This was table we recently completed. We were doing a dry run prior to applying glue. Here you can see the raised panels on the back. See "Tables" to see the finished product.

This is one of the sides to the table. These legs are so well balanced that they are able to stand on thier own. See "Tables" to see the finished product.

Once cleaned up from mill marks this leg and all legs were able to stand on thier own.

Cutting Beyond Fence Capacity

This panel needed to be cut at 63.5 inches in length. Fence capacity is only 50 in. Setting a long and square piece of lumber at the correct measurements enables me to use the actual table as a fence and skip on saw horses and circular saw set up.

Routing a wheel (up close)

This wheel is in the process of being routed to accept the glass. After every pass the router bit is raised three full turns on the Rockler Master lift. The lift eases the process of having to fiddle under the routed table. What a time saver!!!
